Leanne Caron, MA
It's a privilege to be able to combine my passion for midwifery with my background as a writer, publisher and graphic designer. I have spent 30+ years working in marketing and communications positions in the private and non-profit sector, including 15 years at McMaster University and currently at the University of Guelph. As a member of the Midwifery Task Force of Ontario in the 1980s, I was an active member of the Executive, editor of Issue, and sat on the Midwifery Education Program Consortium committee that successfully led to establishment of the MEP at McMaster, Ryerson and Laurentian universities. All four of my children (pre and post-legislation) were born into the hands of midwives.
My publishing company (Log Cabin Press) is part of Northern Village Inc., designing print publications and easily-updated websites. Northern Village is a certified B Corp, which is part of a global network of businesses who operate as a "force for good." In my "spare" time, I am a five-term elected city councillor in the City of Guelph.
